Answers

1.1 Do you think it will have success?
So I shouldn't be asked this. The best answer will be the visitor counter on the first page.

1.2 How long did it take?
Well, I began my work specially on this project in the summer of '97. I prepared the first public-ready version in late summer '98. That would mean a whole year.
Although, this can't be taken very seriously, because I was distracted by many things (my final exams, university applications, etc.) But it was a good time-killer. I can say.

1.3 Are you satisfied with your work?
No! Of course not. I'm happy to have done it, but there are several points to improve. And there must be a certain driving force to push you further, don't you think so?

1.4 Did you use some classified materials?
Well... Diplomats would say "no comment" but I say frankly... no.

1.5 Are all the stated facts correct?
Well, this is real tricky. In this area you can't be sure the facts you use are correct. Many materials were disinformation or bad interpretation of facts mentioned earlier. Plus, I don't have the time to check all the stuff I'm using, that would be full-time job. So I just have to rely on the good work of the authors I took this material over. And if you are not satisfied, just step out and make your point.

1.6 Is this layout the final version?
No. I'm seeing this as an open project. The current version is not final (an I doubt there will be such one). Thus changes and new topics are likely to be added. For this could cause you to miss the current updates, I propose you join the little poll and check the field for being noticed on updates.

2.1 What does xyz stand for?
Look in the part of The Archive called Useful Abbreviations. You should find your answer there.

3.1 When switching trhu People-States-Services by in-line links, the ABC rack doesn't work.
Yes, this is a known bug but it should occur only when using a JavaScript incompatible browser, because that's how I've fixed it. However, you can update both frames by clicking the appropriate button in the Toolbox area. This will reload the correct ABC rack, too.

3.2 I want to download the whole Guide, is there a easy way?
Yes and no. 1) look in the "Download" section if there is a complete ZIP available, 2) you can use an off-line browsing utility (such Teleport) to make a mirror of this site, 3) you ask the author to send it to you (well, but will he)
Anyhow. This way you miss all the updates. The best solution is you keep coming here, that will keep you in touch.

3.3 Why are the main files so huge (30-70kB)?
There are three main reasons for leaving the main files in one part.
1) That's how they were written and cross-referenced (and I hadn't time to re-xref them)
2) It's easier to download. When split up, it sucks.
3) I had it on my hard drive and didn't realize sooner, that they're going onto the slow internet, and then it was too late. (see point 1)
