Soviet spy and defector
Joined the NKVD and in 1954 he was send to Vienna as a KGB agent. He was impressed by the Western way of life and switched sides after being offered asylum.He reported that the KGB employees over 3,000 cadre people and over 15,000 people over the world. He also said that the KGB commonly uses murder, extortion and blackmail as usual work techniques. That was documented by the existence of the willful murder department (Specbyro No.1, Department 13). He also delivered a list of people, which the KGB was planning to kill and names of various agents. Later he worked for the CIA and published an autobiography "The Secret World" in 1959.
