Donovan James Britt

(1916-1970)

US lawyer and intelligence officer

After his law studies (Fordham and Harvard) joined the OSS as an advisor. He acted in the Nuremberg trial in 1945-46. Later he was the solicitor of R.Abel and he worked out a milder sentence to save him for possible exchange. That happened in 1962 in Berlin on the Glienick Bridge, where he was exchanged for F.G.Powers. Donovan followed this line in many of his cases later on.
