Mccone John

(1902-)

CIA's DCI

After the fiasco in The Pig's Bay, JFK named him the DCI. Till then he was a leading man in the Commission for atomic energy. McCone had little experience with intelligence and he behaved very clumsy. He led some reorganizations and ordered the surveillance of Cuban rocket sites. He watched the ships delivering those rockets to Cuba. His efforts were ignored by the higher posts and that led to his resignation in 1965.
