Old secret service, its roots go back beyond our era. Sun c' is known for his excellent theoretical work in organizing secret services in about 600-500 BC. Under espionage aces we can found names like Cho Shen, and from present day Tai-Li and Kchang Sheng. The rest of the world's spies were afraid of the Chinese ones. All services are under the Central Security control, which is responsible for the executive part and CELD (Central Bureau of Outer Relations), which gains information about the others. Counter-espionage units are mostly included in the police. NCNA (New China News Agency) is responsible for the protection of spies working abroad.
In the 1950's the Chinese started to collect information for their atomic research. Chinese scientists coming back from the US were very helpful.
After the cool down of Russian-Chinese relations in 1963 their operation center in Europe moved from Prague to Albania and later to Bern. Residents infiltrated even the International Medical Organization. In 1966 they kidnapped and killed their own defector from the hospital in the Haag.
