Cuba

The cruel military police before the communistic revolution had achieved no successes and a real secret service was founded first after the rise of Fidel Castro. First the DGI (Direction General de Intelligencia) supported by the KGB was established in the 60s. Their agents were trained in former Czechoslovakia. In 1967-77 together with North Jemen, they organized a revolt against Mengista in Etiopea. DGI is closely connected with terrorist organizations like PLO, RAF and IRA. After the cool off of relations with KGB, they were active only in the African region.
