Spain

As the civil war ended in 1939, Securidad began to watch the soviet agents. The service was divided into eight groups, but with time, strong competition evolved between them. Although they tried to retain their neutrality, they weren't able to hide their affection to Germany. By the way, this was used by the Allied in the action "Mincemeat". After the death of Franco in 1977 they finally got their train to democracy and that enabled the foundation of CESID (Centro Superior de Informacion de Defensa, Central bureau of Defense Intelligence). The founding of CESID was accompanied by problems, because the Left didn't trust them. A lot didn't change, even the eight groups and their rivalry remain. Their first major success came first in 1982 when they revealed the preparation of a revolution by the ultra rights. In 1984 they proved the deorganization of the service and the surveillance of the parliament chairman. A reorganization by the prime minister followed. His successor united the sections. Now the CESID has these departments - SIGC (Police information service), SIPAN (Nation police secret service), Information services of the Inner affair ministry, Army intelligence service, Air Force IS, Navy IS and the intelligence division of the Spanish army HQ.
